eKYC and identity verification
Remote customer identification: ID document reading (OCR, NFC chip), liveness check, face matching and an audit trail.
The challenge
Opening an account or a contract still requires a branch visit and manual checking of documents, which is slow and hard to trace.
eKYC lets you identify a customer remotely, with a level of verification suited to your sector's requirements: banking, insurance, telecommunications or public administration. NEXTBIT integrates into your mobile app or portal ID document reading (OCR, MRZ zone, NFC chip), liveness checks, face matching and sanctions-list screening for AML/CFT. Every file is time-stamped and kept with its audit trail. The solution is installed in your infrastructure, and data processing follows law 18-07.
What we do
- ID document reading through OCR, MRZ zone and NFC chip where available.
- Liveness check to reject photos, videos and masks shown to the camera.
- Face matching between the customer's selfie and the photo on their ID document.
- Screening against sanctions lists and politically exposed persons lists (AML/CFT).
- Time-stamped customer file, audit trail and manual review queue for doubtful cases.

Frequently asked questions
Which identity documents can you read?
The biometric national identity card, the biometric passport and other documents with an MRZ zone. When the document has a chip, reading it by NFC with the customer's phone provides data signed by the issuing authority, more reliable than a simple photo.
What happens when automatic verification fails?
The file is not rejected outright: it goes to a review queue where an agent sees the images, the result of each check and its score. The agent approves, asks for more information or refuses, and the decision is recorded in the audit trail.
Where is customers' biometric data stored?
In your infrastructure, or with the hosting provider of your choice in Algeria, never with an imposed foreign provider. We keep only the data needed, encrypt images and face templates, and set retention periods and access rights with you, in line with law 18-07.
