Automation, DevOps and DevSecOps
Infrastructure as code and continuous delivery pipelines, with built-in security checks.
The challenge
Servers configured by hand, risky deployments, forgotten security checks: every release to production becomes a source of incidents.
NEXTBIT describes your infrastructure and deployments as version-controlled code. OpenTofu creates the resources, Ansible configures servers in an identical, repeatable way, and GitLab CI/CD chains build, tests and deployment. Security checks are part of the pipeline: dependency and container image scanning with Trivy, secret detection and code review before merge. Every change is traced, reviewed and reversible. We build these pipelines with your teams, so that they can maintain them on their own afterwards.
What we do
- Infrastructure as code with OpenTofu, versioned and reviewed like application code
- Server and middleware configuration with Ansible playbooks
- CI/CD pipelines on GitLab: build, automated tests, deployment per environment
- Built-in security checks: dependencies, container images, secrets, configuration
- Automated rollback procedures and pipeline documentation
Our approach
- 01
Assessment
Review of deployment practices, environments and existing tools; identification of risky manual tasks.
- 02
Design
Repository layout, branching model, target pipeline and the security checks to build in.
- 03
Pilot
Automation of one representative application or environment, assessed against agreed criteria before extension.
- 04
Rollout and handover
Extension to other applications, pipeline documentation and training your teams to maintain them.
What you gain
- Identical environments, rebuilt from code
- Repeatable, traceable and reversible releases
- Vulnerabilities caught before production
- Teams in control of their own pipelines
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to automate everything from the start?
No. We start with the most frequent or riskiest tasks, on a pilot. Once the pipeline is validated, it becomes the model for other applications. Automation thus moves forward step by step, without holding up ongoing deliveries.
Why OpenTofu rather than Terraform?
OpenTofu is an open source project under a free licence, compatible with Terraform syntax. It avoids depending on a vendor that may change its licence terms. If you already use Terraform, moving to OpenTofu usually works without rewriting the existing code.
What does DevSecOps mean in practice?
Security is checked automatically on every change, not at the end of the project. The pipeline scans dependencies, container images and configuration, detects secrets left in the code and blocks deployment when a critical vulnerability is found.
