Axis 03 · Migration & modernization

Data modernisation and quality

Mapping, cleansing, de-duplication, master data, a data platform and automatic reconciliation.

Duplicates, conflicting reference data and information scattered across several applications: nobody knows which version is the right one.

NEXTBIT brings order to your data before, during and after a migration. We map the sources, measure actual quality, then cleanse, standardise and de-duplicate the records. We build master data shared by your applications and a data platform with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch and Apache Kafka. Automated reconciliation continuously compares data across systems and produces clear reports. Quality rules are documented and handed over to your teams.

What we do

  • Mapping of data sources, flows and business owners
  • Quality measurement: duplicates, missing values, inconsistent formats
  • Cleansing, standardisation and de-duplication of records
  • Master data shared across your applications
  • Automated reconciliation between systems, with discrepancy reports

Our approach

  1. 01

    Assessment

Mapping of sources and flows; measurement of current quality on your real data.

  2. 02

    Design and pilot

Quality rules, master data model and success criteria; pilot on a first data domain.

  3. 03

    Wave-based migration

Data cleansed and migrated domain by domain, with automated reconciliation and a rollback plan for each wave.

  4. 04

    Operations and handover

Continuous quality checks, dashboards, documented rules and training for the teams involved.

What you gain

  • A single reference version for every piece of data
  • Migrations built on clean data
  • Discrepancies between systems detected automatically
  • Quality rules owned in-house

Frequently asked questions

Why address data quality before a migration?

Migrating inconsistent data moves the problems into the new system. Cleansing first reduces rework, makes checks easier and allows automated reconciliation to verify that every record has arrived correctly in the target.

Is our personal data protected during processing?

Yes. Processing takes place on your infrastructure or in an environment you control, with limited and logged access. Where personal data is involved, we apply the principles of law 18-07: purpose limitation, data minimisation and confidentiality.

Who decides which data is correct?

Your business owners. NEXTBIT proposes the matching and merging rules, provides the tooling and flags ambiguous cases. Decisions stay with the people who know the data, and they are documented so they are applied consistently.
