Zero Trust architecture and hardening

Segmentation, firewalls, Zero Trust access, CIS hardening, configuration review and vulnerability scanning.

A flat network where any workstation can reach any server, default configurations and late patches: an intrusion spreads fast.

The Zero Trust model starts from a simple principle: no access is granted by default, even from the internal network. NEXTBIT segments your network by zones and functions, configures firewalls and remote access on least privilege, and hardens servers, workstations and devices against CIS benchmarks. We begin with a configuration review and a vulnerability scan, then deliver a remediation plan prioritised by actual risk. Changes are applied in stages, each with its own rollback plan.

What we do

  • Configuration review of firewalls, switches, servers and the Active Directory domain.
  • Authenticated vulnerability scanning and analysis of results by actual exposure.
  • Network segmentation into zones, with documented filtering rules between them.
  • Zero Trust remote access: verification of identity, device and context.
  • System hardening against CIS benchmarks and a prioritised remediation plan.

Our approach

  1. 01

    Diagnostic

Configuration review, vulnerability scanning and capture of actual network flows.

  2. 02

    Remediation plan

Measures ranked by risk and effort, target segmentation architecture.

  3. 03

    Pilot on one zone

Segmentation and hardening applied to a limited scope, with checks that everything still works.

  4. 04

    Rollout and follow-up

Extension in stages, regular scans, documented rules and training of your teams.

What you gain

  • An intrusion contained in its zone instead of the whole network.
  • Filtering rules that are documented and justified.
  • Vulnerabilities fixed in order of risk.
  • Controlled remote access, with no VPN open to the whole network.

Frequently asked questions

Does your review replace a regulatory audit?

No. Regulatory audits are the remit of accredited bodies. Our work is a technical study: configuration review, vulnerability scanning and a remediation plan. It helps you fix weaknesses and prepare your systems, and can come before an audit carried out by an accredited body.

Could segmentation break our applications?

That is why we first capture the actual flows between your systems before writing any rules. Each new rule starts in monitoring mode, then is enforced in stages with a rollback plan. The pilot on a limited scope lets us correct issues before extending.

Do you work with our current equipment?

Yes. We stay vendor-neutral and work with your existing firewalls and switches whenever they allow it, whether open solutions such as OPNsense or commercial devices. We do not resell hardware: if a replacement is needed, we justify it in the plan.
